The "Missing Bottle"
Water takes on the form of another, but never its own. Such a material can only be recognized by it's own trace. Similarly the challenge to design the Perfect Bottle for the Perfect Quality of "Aqua Carpathian" leads us to think of a Perfect Bottle Form which extends beyond all styles, clich├ęs and ephemerical stereotypes. Therefore it cannot be captured in reality. Such and Ideal Form can be perceived by its Natural Trace as desirable but never reachable object. In other words, the Perfect bottle is a Missing Bottle.
Our proposal for the "Aqua Carpatica" Bottle is characterized by such a relation of trace, cut and deduction of another bottle form. The ideal bottle is designed as missing and that is precisely what gives shape to the proposed bottle. The bottle has not an ideal shape, but it bears the trace of it.
The "inside" concave surface of a bottle is shaped by the "outside" convex surface of the other, giving a sense of natural bond and quality grouping amongst the bottles of Aqua Carpatica. As the form of a bottle contains the trace of another bottle, that creates a relationship of connection and anticipation between bottles of the same family. So one bottle "brings the Other, and so on.., thus creating a growing desire for the actual product, "Aqua Carpatica".

Within this design frame, we suggest that the proposed bottle design include a sense of the "classic". Its conceptual simplicity goes beyond the ever changing aesthetic ideals, and gives the bottle a sense of uniqueness and distinctive identity on the market place. It can also create strong brand recognition and product identification.

The Perfect bottle can only exist in the perfect material. Glass is the only packaging material that is totally inert, odourless, tasteless, and 100% recyclable. Furthermore it is the only material which can guaranty complete purity for the purest water on earth.
The container's convex finish is polished transparent glass while the concave, traced surface is finished in a white sand blast. The brand label is silk printed on the convex curve following the traced surface. Furthermore we recommend the mineral content be printed on the cap and additional information to be silk printed on the base.
The closure is a variation of a standard twist of cap. The safety portion of the closure nests in the form of the traced bottle. As the top portion of the closure is removed to serve the water the larger safety portion remains. In this way the closure is not attached to the bottle, but rather integrated into the bottle. The closure system is covered by a pressed aluminium wrapping. This system ensures that the consumer knows if the bottle has been tampered with or reused prior to his or her experience of Aqua Carpathian water. In addition the final covering creates a classic look and feel to the bottle.
